1963 Documented reliquary theca with relics of the Blessed Luigi Maria Palazzolo, Founder of the Sisters of the Poor

Fancy round silver glass-fronted reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) pre-canonization relic of the Blessed Luigi Maria Palazzolo. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as B. Aloysii M. Palazzolo (the Blessed Rafaela Ybarra [de Vilallonga]). On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of Fr. Salvatore Capoferri, Master of Pontifical Ceremonies and the Postulator General of the Cause of the Beatification. The relic is accompanied by an original matching authentics document issued and sealed by the Postulator General on 19 March 1963 (on the day of the Beatification) and comes in the original leather-covered case of the issue containing a roundel with a portrait of the Blessed.

Blessed Luigi Maria Palazzolo (†1886) was an Italian Roman Catholic priest who worked for the poor and the outcast until his death. He established the Sisters of the Poor which was also known as the Palazzolo Institute and the Little House of Divine Providence. Palazzolo was beatified on 19 March 1963 on the account of his well-known holiness and is considered a patron of the Diocese of Bergamo. Pope Francis approved a miracle attributed to him on 28 November 2019 and will canonize him as a saint on 15 May 2022.
