Reliquary theca with relics of Spanish Saint Inocencio of Mary Immaculate, Martyr of Turon

Round whiite-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing first-class Ex tela imbuto sanguinis  (of a cloth soaked in blood) relic of St. Inocencio of Mary Immaculate. The relic is affixed to a gold silk ground surrounded by silver wire ornamentation and identified in Latin on typeset cedula label as S. Innoc. Canoura Armau. Mart. (St. Inocencio Canoura Arnau, Martyr)  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of The Passionists Order, formally known as the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ.

Saint Inocencio of Mary Immaculate (Manuel Canoura Arnau) (†1934) was a member of the Passionist Congregation and was killed during the Asturias revolt. He and his companions are known collectively as the Martyrs of Turon. On Friday October 5, 1934, a group of strikers forced their way into the Lasallian school in Turón, where Father Inocencio was exercising his priestly ministry. He was imprisoned alongside the eight Brothers in the so-called "House of the People" to await the judgment of the Republican committee. They were condemned to death and, in the early hours of October 9, 1934, were executed by a firing squad. Inocencio is regarded by the Catholic church as one of the Martyrs of the Spanish Civil War. He was canonised on November 21, 1999 by Pope John Paul II.
