1992 Documented reliquary theca with relics of St. Elizabeth (Isabel of Aragon), Queen of Portugal T.O.S.F.

Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing a second-class ex habitu  (of the clothes) relic of the St. Elizabeth of Portugal. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on manuscript cedula label as S. Elizabeth Portug. (Saint Elizabeth of Portugal).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of Friars Minor (OFM) . The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and sealed in 1992 by the Postulator General of the Order where the saint is described as Sanctae Elisateth, Viduae, Lusitanorum Reginae (Saint Elizabeth, Vidow and Queen of Portugal). 

Saint Elizabeth (Isabel) of Portugal,T.O.S.F. (†1336), was queen consort of Portugal, a tertiary of the Franciscan Order and is venerated as a saint of the Catholic Church. She was beatified in 1526 and canonized by Pope Urban VIII on 25 May 1625. Her feast was inserted in the General Roman Calendar for celebration on 4 July. In the United States her memorial has been transferred to 5 July since 4 July is the date of the independence of that nation, a national holiday.
