Fancy reliquary theca with relics of 9 Saints: St Anthony of Padua, St Joseph, St Peter Apostle, St Anne, St Benedict of Nursia, St Aloysius Gonzaga, St Dominica, St John Francis Ferrer & St Vitalis Martyr

19th-century large fancy oval silver glass-fronted reliquary theca decorated on the outside by filigree ornamentation with red cut glass and housing relics of nine of important saints: Saint Anthony of Padua, Saint Dominica of Constantinople, Saint Joseph Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Benedict of Nursia, Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, Saint Peter Apostle, Saint Anne Mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint John Francis Ferrer, and Saint Vitalis, Martyr of Ravena. The relics are affixed to the background of blue silk decorated with gilt wire and paper ornamentation and identified in bi-color ink on paper cedulae labels. On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a perfectly preserved seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of an unidentified Catholic bishop.

Saint Peter († between AD 64 and 68), was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ, leaders of the early Christian Church. He is also venerated as the "Apostle of the Apostles" and the first pope of the Roman Catholic Church, ordained by Jesus in the "Rock of My Church" dialogue in Matthew 16:18. The Christian churches all venerate Peter as a major saint and associate him with founding the Church of Antioch and later the Church in Rome. The Roman Martyrology assigns 29 June as the feast day of both Apostles Peter and Paul.

Saint Anthony of Padua († 1231), also known as Anthony of Lisbon, was a Portuguese Catholic priest and friar of the Franciscan Order. Noted by his contemporaries for his powerful preaching, expert knowledge of scripture, and undying love and devotion to the poor and the sick, he was one of the most-quickly canonized saints in church history. He was canonized in 1232 by Pope Gregory IX and was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 1946. He is the patron saint of Lisbon, lost items, lost people, lost souls, American Indians; amputees; animals; Brazil; elderly people; faith in the Blessed Sacrament; fishermen; harvests; horses; lower animals; mail; mariners; oppressed people; poor people; Portugal; pregnant women; shipwrecks; starvation; sterility; swineherds; travel hostesses; and travelers. His feast day is celebrated on June 13.

Saint Benedict of Nursia (†547 AD) is a Christian saint venerated in the Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Churches. He is a patron saint of Europe and considered to be the founder of Western Christian monasticism. He founded twelve communities for monks and his main achievement is his "Rule of Saint Benedict", containing precepts for his monks combining the unique spirit of balance, moderation and reasonableness. He is a holy patron of Against poison, Against witchcraft , Agricultural workers ,  Covers , Civil engineers , Coppersmiths , Dying people , Erysipelas , Europe , Farmers , Fever , Gall stones , Heerdt (Germany) , Heraldry and Officers of arms , the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest , Inflammatory diseases , Italian architects , Kidney disease , Monks , Nettle rash , Norcia, (Italy) , People in religious orders , Schoolchildren and students , Servants who have broken their master's belongings , Speleologists , Spelunkers , and Temptations.

Saint Anne was the mother of Mary and grandmother of Jesus according to apocryphal Christian and Islamic tradition. She is a holy patron of Canada, carpenters; childless people; equestrians; grandparents; homemakers/housewives; lacemakers; lost articles; Fasnia (Tenerife); Mainar; Detroit; miners; mothers; moving house; old-clothes dealers; poverty; pregnancy; seamstresses; stablemen; sterility; mothers; and children.

The earliest records of a formal devotional following for Saint Joseph date to the year 800 and reference to him as nutritor Domini (educator/guardian of the Lord). Together with the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Child Jesus, Joseph is one of the three members of the Holy Family. Of all the saints in Christendom, the only ones of whom we possess no ex ossibus (from the bone) relics are the Blessed Virgin Mary and her husband Saint Joseph. This lack of bodily relics is attributed to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary into heaven body and soul, which is one of the great Marian Dogmas of the Church. The same reasoning is applied to lack of bodily relics of Saint Joseph, Virgin-Father of Christ and Chaste Spouse of Mary. Saint Joseph is the patron saint of a number of cities, regions and countries, among them the Americas, Canada, China, Croatia, Mexico, Korea, Austria, Belgium, Peru, the Philippines and Vietnam, as well as of families, fathers, expectant mothers (pregnant women), travelers, immigrants, house sellers and buyers, craftsmen, engineers, and working people in general.

Saint Vincent Ferrer, O.P., (†1419) was a Valencian Dominican friar, who gained acclaim as a missionary and a logician who was canonized by Pope Calixtus III in 1455. His feast day is celebrated on 5 April. He is a holy patron of builders, construction workers, plumbers, fishermen, and orphanages.
